How To Clean Face Pores

Having clean pores is important to having beautiful skin.  When your pores get clogged, it can cause blackheads and whiteheads to crop up on your skin and make you look unattractive.  Your skin is sometimes the first thing people will notice, and when you’re skin is marked up with blemishes it can give people the wrong impression.

There are many things you can do to help keep your pores clean and your skin looking fantastic.  Regular washing is of utmost importance.

Keeping your hands off your face is another big factor in keeping your pores from getting clogged.  Your hands have all kinds of bacteria and dirt on them and you may not even realize how often you’re touching your face. Every time you do, you’re putting those oils onto your skin and then that dirt and oil clogs your pores.   It can be a vicious cycle.  That’s why washing your face in the morning and at night is so important.  Use a cleanser that is for your skin type.  If you’re prone to dry skin, use a sensitive formula that won’t be as harsh on your skin.

How to Open Up Your Pores

To open your pores, steaming is a great method.  Boil a pot of water and then shut off the burner. Lean over the pot with a towel tented over your head and let the steam open your pores.  Do not get too close to the steam and do NOT lean over the water while it is boiling or you could give yourself bad burns.
Another great method on how to clean face pores is using pore cleaning strips.  Wet them slightly and apply to your nose and chin and forehead.  Let dry and then peel off. As you peel it off, you will take the dirt clogging the pores with the strip.

Exfoliate your skin once a week to help remove dead skin and deep clean.  This will keep your skin looking radiant and feeling good.  Astringents such as witch hazel are used to tone the skin and keep it looking good.  It also helps to keep your pores clean and free of dirt.
After cleansing, be sure to use moisturize your skin to keep it soft and not dry.  Over moisturizing can also be a problem if you use a cream that isn’t right for your skin, so be sure not to use a moisturizer that is wrong for your skin type.

Products Used to Clean Face Pores

There are also special masks that can be used to clean face pores.  Be sure to only use these masks once or twice a week as they can dry the skin and cause irritation.  One of the most popular masks is the Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser Mask. It gets good reviews because it can be used as a normal acne fighting cleaner, or a deep cleaning face mask.

Whenever you treat the skin with these different methods, be sure to use a warm rag on the nose, forehead and chin for 2-3 minutes before using each method. Doing this makes the skin easily cleaned because the pores are opened up.
After the treatments are done, use cool water to close the pores and prevent dirt and oil for getting right back into the clean pores.  Keeping your skin clean is worth the time and effort to put your best face forward.
